True stories from the Chinese Earthquake on the 12th May.
These comic strips make me shudder and realise the power of human love at the same time
i had forwarded this to my grandma, cause i always send her stuff from the internet related to china, and she responded:
I too wept at the cartoons, but many years of experience told me that this cartoonist, who lives in Beijing, is making the Chinese government very happy. Todays Times afternoon uupdate had a story bout the Chinese Police dragging away grieving parents and a comment that the government had told people not to publish anything about the terrible construction of the schools for the poor and average, while those of the well-off and party members did not collapse. This is the tragedy of China ( and of America- remember Katrina?)- Most of us feel for the suffering of others. but the spin of power wins over human feelings.I admire, most of all the Chinese, that take on their government’ desire to present a perfect face to the world. What courage
i love to “re-blog” my grandma, what can i say.
